Help the birds out!

We stock a selection of bird seeds available in 1kg bags and also stock locally made bird boxes.

We regularly put out bird seed particularly in the colder months and our record daily bird count around the shop is now at 32 species.

THE BABY DUCKLINGS HAVE HATCHED OUT!

The first duck on the pond has hatched 13

ducklings - all still accounted for on day 6!

SPOTTED FLY CATCHER

If you look carfully across the pond you may spot our family of Spotted fly catchers flitting out across the water to catch the gnats and bugs!

We have a pond on site with resident wild mallards and moorhens. Over the years we have been slowly improving this wildlife habitat and in the summer months many species of dragonflies and pond life can be spotted.

We have been lucky to have a visiting kingfisher most Novembers and and other bird species which have visited the site and we would like to help are the spotted flycatcher, Reed warblers and reed buntings. There is a patch of reed bed we are improving in our spare time at the moment to try and attract more of these species.
